My wife’s nieces are staying with us for a week. While watching TV, an ad was played showing a senator commandering and pedaling a commuter tri-bike in a poverty-stricken area while spouting lines that roughly translate to “I will take care of you”. The 10-year old niece nonchalantly and innocently looked up and asked “Tito, eleksyon na ba?” (“Uncle, is it election time already?”).

And they are passing those ads as what again?

I can’t figure out why people would still unplug an electrical appliance if they have already turned off the mechanical kill-switch on the outlet that it is connected to. Some people are really just sheep.

All vegetables. Unfortunately only ‘ampalay’ or bitter gourd is available in the cafeteria. I ordered two servings with instruction to minimize the pork amount in the serving. It was expectedly bitter but what the heck, I have to eat.

Hopefully the vegetable viands tomorrow will be better.

I am so tired of this “can’t do” attitude without providing an alternative of what we “can do”. I wish they would work with us on creating a solution rather than just telling us our solution will not work or is not allowed to work.

Coming from a WinAmp background, the best mp3/ogg/wma player right now for me is XMPlay (http://www.un4seen.com/xmplay.html) which can be used without installation and provides enough features to suit somebody who likes to play some tunes in the background while working. For those not reading between the lines, it means somebody who doesnt really care about the visualization because it meant to be for listening and not for watching.

Today I almost became a millionaire. I missed the grand lotto prize by one number. I don’t bet often and I usually get only two numbers at the most. Imagine my suprise when the computer generated numbers missed only one!
