Too much work

Last night I dreamt that i had to join a call of another team but the speakerphone won’t get out of mute. I moved to another phone but the volume was too low. Several phones had similar problems that I just stood up, looked for a junior member of my team and bellowed “Log a ticket to replace all defective phones in the project area. ASAP!!! “

I need a break. My bossy side is frequently rearing its ugly head again.

Looking for where I can buy this or something similar locally. They come in multiple colors and about half to an inch in diameter. Thanks.

Lose-lose-scenario

While driving home:

Spouse: Tanga ka bang talaga o tanga ka lang?

Spouse2: Tanga ka lang.

Simple no?

Mkv to Avi one-liner

Using the latest ffmpeg:

ffmpeg -i input.mkv -target ntsc-vcd output.avi

If your player only reads PAL then swap ntsc- with pal-

Snobby legal lesson on police incident reports

Got snubbed on the phone by the Binangonan legal office for not waiting for the police to write an incident report in yesterday’s accident (http://ramfree17.net/capsule/2011/08/i-dont-need-this-right-now/).

Moral lessons of the story:

  • it doesn’t matter if you took pictures and if the police doesn’t arrive after an hour in the incident; you need to wait for them to create the incident report if you want something substantial to hold on to.
  • lacking the above, you can still file an affidavit.
  • Legal advice cannot be made over the phone. You need something? Then get your butt in the legal office.

Kudos to the Binangonan Office of the Mayor. Their “tawag ka lang” hotline actually works!

For all those simple questions

I was going to trademark/copyright “Mukha Ba Akong Google?” But somebody beat me. I call dibs on “MBAG?”. :)

Riddle

“If the sky is high and the carabaos can fly, how many bananas are left?”

A riddle I found from the Inquirer circa 1994. I dedicate this to Babs na Babs, bsMouth and JoyaBongga. ;)

Remove empty directories using *nix find

find -depth -type d -empty -exec rmdir {} \;

The -depth parameter tells find to start from the innermost directory first and work its way to the top level.
